Residents report hearing a ‘massive bang’


A man had to be cut out of a car following a serious accident between Kimbolton Avenue and Ilkeston Road in Lenton, eyewitnesses say.

Residents on Kimbolton Avenue report hearing a “massive bang” at the time of the crash in the early hours of Friday 28th May.

A woman, in a separate car, was also involved in the incident but it’s believed she was not injured.

Images from the scene appear to show the roof of the car missing. Extensive damage to the bonnet is also visible.

“The guy had to be cut out the car while his family there were wailing. He was still alive and was put in an ambulance,” an eyewitness told The Tab Notts.

The woman involved in the accident was also put in an ambulance but “didn’t seem injured,” the eye-witness said. However, she appeared to be having a panic attack in the aftermath, another eyewitness told.

Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for a statement regarding the crash. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
