Four fire engines called to remove a chemical package found at Chancellors Drive

The Elizabeth Fry building was evacuated

A package delivered to the Chancellors Drive area was found leaking chemicals this afternoon.

Four fire engines, a police car and a Norfolk City County car responded to the incident, following which the lower part of Chancellors Drive was cordoned off. As a further precautionary measure the Elizabeth Fry building was evacuated.

Third-year student Petros was working at an applicant day when the package was discovered. He said: "When the fire service turned up we decided to cut the applicant lunch short and take the prospective students somewhere else."
