Shaggy is coming to the LCR next month

But she caught me on the counter

Reggae-fusion superstar Shaggy will be performing at the LCR on June 15th as part of a short tour preceding his show at Glastonbury Festival.

The 48-year-old is most famous for his hit single ‘It Wasn’t Me’, which has sold 1.2 million copies in the UK, and more importantly become an integral part of the Tuesday night Damn Good playlist.

He also topped the UK charts in 1995 with ‘Boombastic’, and 2001’s ‘Angel’, being awarded a Grammy for Best Reggae Album for the former.

In spite of a lack of chart success since the early 2000s, he has continued to release music, such as this banger in 2014. In addition to this, he recently started a record label to promote up-and-coming reggae artists who are following in his footsteps.

His intimate LCR gig will top-off an academic year which has seen internationally acclaimed artists such as Stormzy, The Wailers and The Kooks.

Tickets for Shaggy are priced at £25 and will be available here from Thursday, May 4th.
