Yasmin DuggalWhen walking around campus, it becomes clear that the majority of Manchester students refuse to wear anything but trainers. Whether it is the oldest, comfiest Converse or the latest Nike craze, trainers dominate campus style.
New Balance seem to be the most popular shoe in Manchester – but can you blame people? They provide ultimate comfort, they are reasonable priced and they are a life-saver when it comes to the long walk home when you have missed the bus.
Adidas Superstars are a popular current trend, whilst Roshe Runs remain a favourite for the fast-walkers of Oxford Road. You might even spot the occasional pair of fluorescent hi-tops or skater-boy Vans.
Trainers are the ideal student shoe: perfect for all weathers, they blend into the casual student vibe and, let’s face it, can be worn straight from the lecture theatre to the club.
