UCL’s best moustaches of Movember

The month’s Movember round-up is finally upon us and it’s time for shaving…

Here’s a round up of the annual effort of UCL sports teams for Movember, a charity dedicated to men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and men’s prostate and testicular cancer. This year, UCL sports clubs raised £17,661 in total.

In the spirit of competition, the top 3 UCL sports teams raising money were:

  1. UCL Men’s Football Club (£8082.00)
  2. RUMSFC (£2733.50)
  3. UCL Men’s Rugby (£1720.00)

The London Tab have put together our yearly top picks of Movember beards, so get ready for the best of the bunch.

Most French-looking ‘tache

Winner:

Bonjour to those curved ends and unfortunately au revoir to England in the world cup…

Most likely to be the Go-Compare man’s long-lost rebellious son

Winner:

He’s a little way behind his dad in terms of growth, but a little gel could go a long way in turning up those ends to complete the look.

Most likely to be a serial killer

Winner:

With all the hype around Jeffrey Dahmer it probably wasn’t the best call to have the glasses and blonde moustache combo, but there you have it…

Most likely to play a villain in a Western Film

Winner:

This guy was last spotted on the ‘Wanted’ posters dotted around Phineas. You just know he’s stroking that moustache when saying his evil monologue…

Runner up:

We were too scared of this guy to put him as the winner. He’s definitely been in a couple of brawls by the look of his eye-brow slit.

Most wholesome

In an extremely clichéd way, this category was the hardest to pick…

Winner:

Runners up:

Best Mustache of Movember

For no other reason than this guy just looks smooth!

That’s a wrap on Movember 2022!

President of UCLFC, Ben Ballard commented “All the Movember foundation’s causes are very important to us but mental health and suicide prevention has been the focal point for us ever since we lost our member Louis Carr to suicide in 2018.”

As fun and lighthearted this campaign is, the global crisis it tries to address shouldn’t be ignored. Around 10.8 million men globally will face life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. And one man dies by suicide every minute of the day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides worldwide.
