Welcome Week tickets are on sale now

Special guests include Craig Charles, Russell Kane and James Cosmo


Liverpool Guild of Students has planned its yearly week of welcome events. This years events will be running from Sunday 17th September to Thursday 28th September. The line up includes club nights, quizzes, stand-up comedians and a banquet fit for the leader of the Seven Kingdoms to welcome new and returning students to Liverpool University life!

The line up of events:

  • Sunday 17th September – Welcome Party: Renowned DJ ‘Hot Dub Time Machine’ travels through pop music history, whilst festivities continue off the dance floor with fun fair stalls and crazy golf.
  • Monday 18th September – Welcome Club Night with Craig Charles: A night of pure funk and soul with former Coronation Street and Red Dwarf star, as well as BBC Radio 6 Music DJ, Craig Charles.
  • Tuesday 19th September – Welcome Comedy: Russell Kane will be headlining with material from his side-splitting weekly ‘Kaneing’ along with support from Kelly Convey and Elliot Steel.
  • Wednesday 20th September – Welcome Banquet: The experiential evening will take students on a Game of Thrones journey, complete with a three course banquet fit for Lord Commander of the Nights Watch (James Cosmo) who will be making a special appearance.
  • Thursday 21st September – Welcome Quiz Night: Students will gather up every bit of random knowledge and spin the wheel for six interactive ‘Best of’ rounds.
  • Friday 22nd September – Welcome Bier Keller: Students will be invited to grab a stein and kick off Oktoberfest early with the world famous ‘Amazing Bavarian Stompers’
  • Saturday 23rd September – Welcome Club Night with Blazin’ Squad and Love Islands’ Marcel: Students will see Blazin’ Squad and Marcel at the Crossroads as a Love Island comes to Liverpool.
  • Sunday 24th September – Welcome Tour: Students can uncover the hidden beauty of the magnificent Grade 1 listed building, St. Georges Hall. 
  • Thursday 28th September – Welcome Trip: Students will be invited to take a spooky trip around the city with Liverpool’s multi award winning ghost and history tour: Shiverpool.
