Generally considered to be the most esteemed electronic music night in Liverpool, Chibuku returns to the East Village Arts club for its inaugural party of the academic year.

Marking the first in a handful of re-opening parties, and contending with the likes of Abandon Silence, Eat Your Greens, Pause and LDMS, It would seem that Chibuku is the clear winner in terms of impressive guests.

Disclosure are due to headline with a DJ set; an unknown entity for many due to their tendency to play live, using guitars, pianos and synthesisers (they were supposed to DJ at abandon silence at the end of the summer term but it fell through and Dusky had to step in).

Justin Martin

Joining the Surrey duo will be Justin Martin, made famous by Dusky’s remix of his ‘Don’t Go’ for Dirtybird Records, as well as Hannah Wants who needs no introduction; having played alongside Annie Mac, SBTRKT and XXXY, tracks like ‘Dappy’ and ‘None A Them’ for Food Music, as well as her series of infectious online mixes, have made Hannah a household name.

East Village Arts Club. Less sophisticated than it sounds…

Oneman and Javeon are set to support as well as Nick Baskerville and Abandon Silence resident, Harry Sheehan. However, a new name to look out for is Scotland’s latest export, SOPHIE who is the latest in series of talents to emerge from Scottish collective Huntleys and Palmers (the guys responsible for Auntie Flo).

Having made waves in January with ‘Nothing More To Say’ SOPHIE has been on the rise all year. However a stand out track has to be ‘BIPP’; a trippy, jittery mix of trap and deep house. It might not be your thing but it is certainly unique and a very ‘modern’ choice of booking for Chibuku.
