Human remains have been found in a skip at a Leeds waste recycling site

Police have been working at the site since yesterday


At 10am on Monday morning, workers at Skelton Skips in Leeds found human remains inside a skip.

Forensic officers were contacted and have been at the site since.

The West Yorkshire Police said: “At 9:57am, police received a report of human remains having been found at a waste recycling firm, in Knowsthorpe Way, Leeds

“Officers are attending the scene to assess the remains and establish the circumstances”.

The BBC reports images from the site show the forensic team examining a conveyor belt at the site.
