Sheffield who?

The Times and the Sunday Times’ Good University Guide 2018 has named the University of Leeds as the top university in the North.

Leeds also rose three places in the national ranking, securing tenth place.

Graduate prospects have helped boost our position in the rankings, as Leeds is one of the top fi universities targeted by leading employers and also has 81.5% of graduates in employment or further study.

Leeds scored highly in last month’s National Student Survey for both teaching experience (83.3%) and teaching quality (82.4%) making it one of the top three Russell Group universities for teaching satisfaction.

More than 80% of the research assessed in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework was world-leading or internationally excellent, making Leeds secure the top 10 in the UK in 30% of its subject areas.

Surprisingly, Leeds Trinity is the fastest riser in the rankings and top for teaching quality, ranking it fifth in the North of England.

For the other rankings in the North, York came second, then Sheffield in third followed by Huddersfield in fourth.

Leeds Trinity was in fifth and Sheffield Hallam ranked sixth.

Both Bradford and Hull came in joint seventh place, then York St John in ninth and Leeds Beckett in tenth place.
