‘Killer clowns’ reportedly spotted in Leeds

One was arrested with a knife on Tuesday in Newcastle

Creepy “killer clowns” have apparently been spotted around Leeds.

Several people have posted sightings online, suggesting the Newcastle’s clown epidemic has spread to West Yorkshire.

One was reportedly spotted lurking near the Leeds Beckett main campus last night.

There are also a number of unconfirmed photos doing the rounds on Twitter.

The craze, which started on college campuses in the US, now seems to have spread to UK soil.

The panic comes after a clown was spotted outside of Belfast nightclub Villa on Wednesday night.

The clown problem in Newcastle is now so bad, Northumbria Police were forced to make an arrest on Tuesday and issue a statement online.

It said: “Tonight, officers have arrested a teenage boy in Blakelaw in possession of a bladed article in connection with one of such clown incidents.

“This arrest should act as a clear warning to others who are actively seeking to cause distress and potentially harm others.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated by Northumbria Police and extra officers will be on hand to offer reassurance and catch those responsible for any criminal offences which have taken place.”

Now people are claiming the trend has spread to Leeds, and they’re not happy.

Maybe they’re just on an Otley Run?
