LUU are launching their own beer

They could have given it a better name tbh

Leeds University Union have today announced that they have created their own beer for the Spring Hop Beer Festival which starts on Friday.

The beer is rather unimaginatively named “Spring Hop” and has been brewed by the local Northern Monk Brew Co.

It is said to be a Mango IPA, which uses a mango puree to give it a “fruity flavour”. Although we all know a true “fruity flavour” is a concoction of various flavours of VK followed by a drunken Flames bargain box, but that probably doesn’t transfer well to a beer.

With a name like Spring Hop and flavours such as mango, the creators have said it will give it a nice summery flavour, although with today’s hailstones that’s no use to anyone.

The Spring Hop Beer Festival runs from Thursday to Saturday in Terrace with over 30 varieties of ale and beer on offer. They are also offering an Old Bar-B-Q (see what they did there) menu, so you may actually be able to have a burger in a bun and not a wrap for once.
