Person injured and traffic build-up reported after crash on Scotforth Road

The traffic collision took place outside Booths supermarket

Police have confirmed that a minor injury was reported after a crash on Scotforth Road yesterday.

The road traffic collision happened outside Booths supermarket and led to traffic building on Scotforth Road.

The accident took place along the 100, 1 and 1A university bus routes from Lancaster city centre via Bowerham and led to traffic building up, with some buses being diverted to avoid traffic.

Immediately after the crash, police were asking motorists to try and find alternative routes around Booths to avoid heavy traffic. This led to services to the university being delayed, with the 100 diverting through Hala.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, a police spokesperson said: “Please be aware that there is currently heavy traffic in the area of Booths (supermarket) on Scotforth Road, Lancaster.

“This is due to a road traffic collision. If possible please find an alternative route.

“Thank you in advance for your patience.”
