The best places to eat at in the West End now that lockdown is over

The time has finally come!

Lockdown restrictions have been eased today, which mean that a lot of restaurants have opened up again for indoor and outdoor service. Whilst you may not be able to drink alcohol at some of these places, there are a lot of great options to eat out at, and in case you’re spoiled for choice the Tab Glasgow has selected our favourite restaurants.

Paesano Pizza

Located on Great Western road, Paesano pizza is a Glasgow uni student favourite because it serves great food with cheap prices. It can get really busy and it doesn’t take bookings, so make sure you get there earlier if you want a seat.

MOZZA

Another alternative for pizza lovers is Mozza, on Byers Road, which serves great tasting pizza.

MacTassos

This food truck parked at Kelvingrove Way serves the best greek food at a great price. This is great on a sunny day if you don’t fancy sitting in a restaurant.  They don’t accept card so remember to bring cash.

CATCH

If you are looking for a traditional chippy, CATCH is the place to go. They do great fish and chips, and also have a vegan alternative.

Bar Soba

Another student favourite on Byers Road, this restaurant serves great South east Asian food and cocktails, with lots of vegetarian/vegan options. They also offer great student discount on weekdays.

Cottonrake on Great Western Road has always got a queue out of the door because it serves great pastries and coffee, and is right near to Glasgow Uni.

NanaKusa

If you’re in the mood for sushi, NanaKusa has some great options, even for vegans, and it is not too expensive.

BRGR

If you want great tasting burgers but you don’t want to spend too much, BRGR on Great Western Road is a great option. They serve a wide range of burgers and sides and have some great vegetarian/vegan options.
