Viper is set to close

Next week is the last Viper Wednesday

Viper nightclub, situated on Great Western Road, is set to close.

The club is vastly popular with University of Glasgow students and societies, and is notorious for Monday Night Heat and Viper Wednesdays.

Next Wednesday, the 25th, will be the last Viper Wednesday club night.

Staff have been informed about the closure, and societies are going to be told later today.

A lot of staff members are current University students so the closure is bound to be upsetting news.

Viper is arguably one of the most popular student clubs in Glasgow, especially for University of Glasgow students. There is often a queue outside stretching all the way to Domino’s. It boasts a dancefloor and DJ space, a large bar, and multiple booths for societies and students to hire.

Viper is immensely popular

It is infamous for its cans of Dragon Soop and society nights such as ‘Battle of the Societies’ and ‘Après Ski’.

Student Joe Nisbet said: “This is sad news for everyone. Where else will I get my cans of Soop and cut my shapes?”

The Tab have contacted Viper for comment.
