Glasgow spending £775million on massive refurbishment plans

Give it 10 years and campus is gonna look beaut


Glasgow uni are planning to splash an eye-watering £775million on an immense refurbishment programme over the next 10 years.

The project has been described as the largest in the uni’s history since it moved from the city centre to its current site in the 1870s.

The uni is currently searching for a contractor partner and is holding a market engagement event on September 21st to inform and find the right contractor for the job.

A university statement said: “We plan to invest in developing new buildings and bringing our historic and iconic buildings up to a standard which supports the needs of current and future students and researchers.”

Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Anton Muscatelli, said: “The campus development is something that will take many years to complete and will create a lasting legacy for future generations of students, academics and local people in the west end of Glasgow.”
