New look for St. Luke’s

St.Luke’s campus set for a whopping £10m makeover.

With planning permission granted and funding approved, the 150-year-old campus of St. Luke’s is set to see big changes.

The plans come following big projections of growth for the University of Exeter’s medical school, graduate school of education and sport sciences.

Refurbishment is planned for South Cloisters later this month, as a new storey will be added and a four storey extension built.

Some seriously terrible Photoshopping going on…

Professor Steve Thornton, Dean of the University of Exeter Medical School, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that this refurbishment will soon be under way. It will help to accommodate our plans for growth and will provide a modern facility for medical research, and for teaching and learning across all Colleges.”

If all goes to plan, the new teaching space in the four storey extension will be open in September 2015, with research areas hopefully opening as early as February 2015.

If you simply can’t wait that long, there is set to be a student study space open above Cloisters Café in the Autumn term of 2014 but please try to contain your excitement, we’re still worried about the fate of The Bop…
