Get down to Walkabout: the greatest show on turf returns

Every four years the sporting world is graced with the mightiest of events: the football world cup and the Olympic Games. These two events naturally attract millions of viewers worldwide and are the most watched sporting events the world over.

However, in between these two great sporting spectacles, the annual NFL Superbowl takes the top spot. The Superbowl is watched by so many people that the average cost of a 30-second advertisement is around $4 million.

Superbowl XLVIII promises fireworks

The game kicks off at 23:30 GMT which, granted is a bit late if you have a 9am lecture the next morning, but it’s almost always worth watching at least some of the game.

If you’re not hosting your own Superbowl party with housemates or flatmates but still want to watch the game, the Exeter University American Football team, in conjunction with Walkabout, are hosting their annual Superbowl party.

This event is always huge and full of atmosphere so it is highly recommended. For the past week, the team has been on campus selling tickets, but tickets can be bought on the door, according to availability limitations.

Tickets are £5 each and include a free drink when you get in. Walkabout are also putting on 20% off all food, £1.50 bottles and £2 pints.

Be sure to bring some extra cash for the raffle that is run with help from Great American Sports, who have donated some great raffle prizes including three official game jerseys, some footballs, pennant flags, a calendar and a 32 team miniature helmet collection set plus loads more.
