Respect concert postponed until to give Westwood “the chance to clarify his position on equality.”

| UPDATED

Westwood’s Exeter Respect concert has been postponed following exclusive revelations from our Tab cousins in Leicester about the Lowestoft-born DJ.

The concert was due to take place on 25 October in the Great Hall, but has been delayed while organisers make a decision on whether to drop the sexist star.

Westwood, 38 years older than some students, recently headlined at an event during Leicester Uni’s Freshers Week where he controversially told his audience to “keep your pussies tight and clean” among other vulgar statements.

Dr Suaad Genem-George, on behalf of the Exeter Respect Chair, told Exeposé: “Exeter Respect have a zero tolerance policy on all forms of prejudice – both implicit and explicit – and we explicitly condemn any form of sexism”.

Some students have responded well to the news. “I’m glad it’s been cancelled,” says Hollie Dennison, 2nd year. “He’s old enough to know better than to intimidate young women”.
