Guild Teaching Awards Announced

Glittering Great Hall ceremony greets Guild Award guests


Over 200 guests including NUS president Toni Pearce and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Steve Smith were on hand to celebrate the Guild Teaching Awards.

The Great Hall event on Thursday May 2 saw nominations up by 20%, with over 500 academics up for awards.

The winners were:

• Change Agents Champion – Sarah Dyer, Geography
• Best Postgraduate Teacher – Lawrence Choo, Economics
• Best Employability Support – Paul Barton, Management and Organisation
• Best Feedback Provider – Imogen Moore, Law
• Innovative Teaching – Matt Hayler, English
• Research Inspired Teaching – Solomon Lennox, Drama
• Best Supervisor – Tamsin Ford, UOEMS
• Best Research Community – Physics
• Most Supportive Member of Staff – Isabel Moros, Modern Languages
• Best Lecturer – Philippe Young, Engineering
• Best Subject – Theology

Guild vice-president academic affairs Imogen Sanders said: “These awards are a great opportunity for students to say thank you.

“Reading the submissions was touching and humbling, but also opened my eyes to some of the fabulous work being done across our institution.”
