Brookes ranked 87th best university in the country (by ourselves)

Why can’t we just love ourselves

Do we really hate our lectures, campus and the clubs of Oxford that much?

Based on factors like accommodation, societies and the clubbing scene, Brookes’ was rated a measly 87 out of 113 universities in the country in Whatuni rankings released this week.

Taking into account facilities, social life and appreciation of the city, over 20,000 students were asked if they are happy with their university experience.

Ranking above the likes of Sheffield Hallam, Westminster and Kent, we didn’t come last but we may as well have.

Maybe the depressing state of Wheatley campus dragged down our score or the unbelievably annoying U1 service that is never, ever on time.

Even worse, hoity toity Oxford and Cambridge steamed ahead, rated 29th and 25th respectively.

But it’s not all bad. In 2011, Brooke’s lectures were chosen as national leaders for teaching and in 2013, 50 per cent of students obtained a 2:1 when they graduated.

So maybe we’re good, just not great.
