Every Brum student will be getting a UoB-branded face mask in September
No news whether we’ll get customised old joe masks yet
There are many things that don’t surprise me about UoB- like the Vice Chancellor not taking a pay cut to his £450,000 annual salary -but offering branded UoB face masks to every student was not something that I think we were prepared for.
UoB has announced that all students will be given branded UoB face masks in September for protection against COVID-19.
Beyond face masks, the email made no mention of tuition fee reductions, despite the fact module choices and campus facilities are going to be reduced and restricted for September.
In an email sent to students on Wednesday evening, UoB made the face mask revelation, they said “in September the University will be issuing all students with a washable, UoB branded, face covering.”
They continued to mention the adjusted facilities that will be available in September to combat COVID-19. “Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 will be supported to self-isolate and will have easy access to testing and any required follow-up, through the national NHS test and trace programme.
The email also stated “hand-washing facilities are available across campus, as well as additional hand sanitisers in high traffic areas. One-way systems are also in place across buildings where they’re needed.”
