A 26-year-old has been bailed pending further enquiries after a uni employee had his ear bitten off.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray but has since been released.

The brutal brawl took place around 2.40am on Sunday morning in the town centre, leaving a 22-year-old who works in the Sports Centre needing reconstructive surgery.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson told The Tab: “A 26 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.

“He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”

The fight is believed to have involved up to 10 men and spread across town.

Second year Bethan, who saw the scrap, said: “There were around five guys against another five guys.

“As the fight was going on, the guy who works in the Sports Centre fell to the ground and had several people kicking him, and a local literally bit the top of his ear.

“A few guys held all the boys back and the fight sort of came to an end.”

A spokesperson from Why Not Bar said: “The aggressor was not a local as far as we are aware.

“They are a nasty individual who will hopefully be found and charged.”
