Breaking: Aberdeen exchange students are being called back from Hong Kong

Arrangements are being made to get them home immediately


University of Aberdeen is calling back all its exchange students who are currently abroad in Hong Kong.

A spokesperson has said: “We are in close contact with our exchange students. Arrangements are being put into place to bring our exchange students home".

The decision comes after the University of Hong Kong has decided to supend all classes for the remainder of the semester, as violence regarding the protests have reached a new height.

Several Universities across the city have been occupied by protesters for the last 4 days.

Now exchange students from all over the world are being brought back home.

The spokesperson said: "The safety of our students is paramount.”

University of Edinburgh, Warwick University and Nottingham University are also working on returning their students back home safely.
