It doesn’t look like we’re getting a Selling Sunset season eight reunion and I’m heartbroken
I don’t want one, I need one
Guys, I’m sorry but it’s not looking good for a reunion episode after season eight of Selling Sunset, despite how much the latest episodes have left us crying out for one.
After season five and seven, Selling Sunset has given us a reunion episode which airs on Netflix two weeks after the season in question first aired. Netflix usually announces the extra episode ahead of the first episodes dropping, or at least well in advance. It’s been radio silence on that front so far – which is the first red flag for a potential Selling Sunset season eight reunion.
The drama we would definitely want to see the cast sit down and deep dive into is the ongoing feud between Emma and Nicole, and everything going on with Chelsea and Mary, and Chrishell, Nicole and Bre. Basically, everyone is embroiled in the drama somehow.
One of the main arguments during the Nicole and Emma spat was that Emma didn’t have an opportunity to respond to all the allegations made during the show, so it feels as though there’s a lot of room for that to be settled after the show has aired.
However, as one person pointed out on Reddit, the pattern of how reunions have previously fallen is another reason we might not be getting one this time around. “The show has a reunion every two seasons so the reunion will be at the end of season nine,” they said.
On top of this, the nature of the Emma and Nicole scandal meant it might not be logistically possible for a reunion to take place. Ahead of the episodes airing on Netflix, talking of what happened on the show, Chrishell said: “ Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time??” She then added a “Get Nicole Off My Screen Button” poll accusing co-star Nicole Young of lying. The poll options were: “Yes!” and “HELL YES!!”
“I will NEVER work on a show with her on it again,” Chrishell said. “I would rather be sued.” Doubling down on her comments in an interview with Extra TV, she said: “I will never work on a show with her again.”
So, is there going to be a sit down reunion if the cast members are straight-up refusing to be on the show together anymore? We can still pray, but it’s not looking good.
