Harry Potter babies: Who from the iconic film series now have children?

Harry Potter is officially on Netflix in the UK after years of rumours flying around and there is no doubt hardcore fans are about to begin the binge of a lifetime. It’s been over 20 years since the first film hit cinemas and families fell in love with the magical world of Hogwarts.

Now the cast have all grown up, they’ve all started to have families of their own. The news that Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, was expecting his first child made everyone deep just how old they were getting, but he isn’t the only Hogwarts students to have children.

Here is a look at all the Harry Potter cast movies, across all eight movies, who have had children or are expecting some soon.

Daniel Radcliffe

In April 2023, it was revealed Daniel Radcliffe and his longterm partner Erin Darke had welcomed their first child. The couple were pictured by Daily Mail walking in New York City while Daniel was pushing a stroller.

In a statement to Hello! Magazine, a spokesperson for Daniel Radcliffe said: “We can confirm that Erin Darke and Daniel Radcliffe have welcomed their first child.”

Daniel and Erin have been in a relationship since meeting on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2013. The couple played love interests and clearly their chemistry was too strong to deny offscreen.

Rupert Grint

Child star icons Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome welcomed their first child together in May 2020. The couple were first rumoured to be dating in 2011 and the rest is history.

Speaking about becoming a father during the coronavirus pandemic, Rupert said: “It’s been tough. It’s a time when you want as much support as you can get from your family and your friends. It’s a very isolating thing, this lockdown, so we really have kind of been on our own. But there’s positives with that. It’s been great to work everything out for ourselves, without so many opinions. We’ve really bonded with Wednesday. It’s been intense, but great.”

Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter books, announced in April 2023 she was expecting her first child with her husband, Andrew Lococo.

In a sweet Instagram post, Bonnie wrote: “We’re having a baby! So excited to share this beautiful land with them. What a wild and humbling journey pregnancy is, transforming to make space for new life.

“Andrew and I can’t wait to meet our baby later this year and become parents. It feels like they’re coming to say hello in the little rainbow orb across my belly.”

Devon Murray

In 2021 Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnigan in the Harry Potter film series, welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Shannon Quinn.

The pair have been in a relationship since 2018 and Shannon gave birth to their son, Cooper Michael Murray, in January 2021.

Announcing the birth of his son on Instagram, Devon wrote: “Yesterday 2/1/21 my life changed forever. Shannon delivered our beautiful little boy Cooper Michael Murray weighing 6lbs 10oz.

“Both are doing amazing now after a very long labour and a scary few minutes at the end. It still hasn’t sunk in just yet that we have our very own little boy. I can’t wait to make the most amazing memories with Shannon and Cooper as we begin our little family.

“I’m so amazed by Shannon and she is now my hero. I’m so proud of her for everything she has gone through.”

Afshan Azad

Afshan Azad is best known for playing the role of Padma Patil in the Harry Potter films. She was first introduced in 2005, in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

In 2021, Afshan announced she was expecting her first child with her husband, Nabil Kazi. In a sweet Instagram post announcing the news, Afshan wrote: “The secrets out everyone – I’m going to be a mummy!!! Thanking Allah SWT for gifting us our biggest blessing yet.

“Baby Kazi due this July inshAllah. Both our hearts are filled with love, excitement and nerves! Not long to go, please keep us in all your prayers.”

Jessie Cave

Jessie Cave, best known for her rose as Lavender Brown in Harry Potter, has four children with her husband, Alfie Brown. Alfie and Jessie have been together for seven years and the pair have Donnie, Margot, Abraham and Becker.

Scarlett Hefner

Scarlett Hefner gave birth to her first child, Betsy, in August 2020 and two years later she and her husband welcomed twins, Marigold and Blossom.

“Our home is full of love with our three daughters and we couldn’t be happier,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.

She recently shared a Mother’s Day post of her and her daughters who are all spitting images of her. “Wishing everyone who celebrates a Happy Mother’s Day,” she wrote.

“Grateful for my little loves, my guiding lights, Betsy, Marigold and Blossom for keeping my hands full but my heart fuller.”
