This is what the niche Harry Potter cast members are up to now

Of course Viktor Krum had a glow up 🔥

It’s been just over 10 years since the last Harry Potter filmed was released, and I think we can all agree it’s been a rather difficult time to be a Harry Potter fan. However one thing that isn’t challenging is to admit how much we still love the Harry Potter cast members. Seriously, these people were our childhood and I will never forget them.

In the last decade the main cast members have largely remained in the public eye. Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe have gone onto have incredible acting careers and Rupert Grint went onto have a baby with Georgia Groome aka Georgia from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. But what about their fictional classmates? Where are the niche, smaller characters of Harry Potter now? Draco Malfoy? Dean Thomas? And Fleur Delacour? What are they up to?

Well some are still acting, others are becoming proper adults and starting families of their own, and others are still talking about being in Harry Potter.

This is where the niche Harry Potter cast members are now:

Draco Malfoy – Tom Felton

Don’t deny it to yourself you definitely had a crush on Draco Malfoy when you were a kid. Ever since the film series ended in 2011, Tom Felton, who played Draco, has continued to speak on his time in the films and has gone on big TikTok doing his impressions of Draco.

He’s now 34 years old and has been in a number of films including Rise of The Planet of The Apes, Belle and Against The Sun.

In 2016 he had a recurring role in the TV series The Flash and a lead role in the sci-fi series Origin in 2018. Earlier this year he made his stage debut in the West End play 2:22 A Ghost Story.

During his time in Harry Potter he was in a relationship with stunt assistant Jade Olivia Gordon, however they broke up in 2016. It’s been rumoured by fans Tom was dating Emma Watson at one point, however, neither of them have ever confirmed this.

Tom has nearly 12 million followers on Instagram and uses it to post Harry Potter nostalgia and promote his music.

Neville Longbottom – Matthew Lewis

via Instagram @mattdavelewis

Matthew Lewis definitely had the best glow-up of the whole Harry Potter cast. Now he’s 32 years old and married. How time flies.

He’s been married to his wife Angela Jones since 2018. The couple met at Universal Orlando where Angela was working as a VIP manager for a Harry Potter event Matthew was attending. They now live in Orlando with their dog.

Matthew has continued acting since Harry Potter. He starred in the Me Before You adaptation alongside Emilia Clarke in 2016. He’s mainly been doing TV projects including The Syndicate, Bluestone 42, Ripper Street and Girlfriends.

He has nearly three million followers on Instagram and still posts the odd bit of Harry Potter content including reunion pictures with Tom Felton.

Fred and George Weasley – James and Oliver Phelps

The twins who played Fred and George Weasley, James and Oliver Phelps, have continued to do projects together.

They haven’t done much acting but they have their own podcast series called Normal Not Normal in which they have interviewed a number of celebrities, including some of their Harry Potter cast members.

In 2015 Oliver married Katy Humpage and a year later James got married to his wife Annika Ostle.

Ginny Weasley – Bonnie Wright

The actress who played Ginny Weasley, Bonnie Wright, has had quite a career change since the movie series ended.

Now she’s an environment activist and has written a book called Go Gently where she gives her tips on nurturing yourself and the planet.

Bonnie lives in Los Angeles with her husband Andrew Lococo. She hasn’t done that much acting since Harry Potter, instead she’s directed a number of short films.

She has nearly 4 million followers on Instagram and she’s an ambassador for Greenpeace.

Luna Lovegood – Evanna Lynch

Luna Lovegood was Evanna Lynch’s first ever acting role and yet she completely smashed it. Since Harry Potter ended she’s continued acting, starring in the film GBF and My Name Is Emily. She appeared in two episodes of the BBC’s Silent Witness as well.

In 2018 Evanna competed on Dancing With The Stars and came in third place. Evanna was in a relationship with actor Robbie Jarvis, who played Harry’s dad in the fifth movie, for nine years and the couple had a podcast together called ChickPeeps.

The podcast focused on veganism, something Evanna is passionate about on her Instagram where she has four million followers.

Last year Evanna released a memoir about her experience with anorexia called The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting: The Tragedy and Glory of Growing Up – A Memoir.

Vincent Crabbe – Jamie Waylett

via Warner Bros

Jamie Waylett who played Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter series missed the last two films after being caught with bags of cannabis.

In 2009 Waylett and a friend were pulled over the police. After a search of their vehicle police found a knife and eight bags of cannabis. Police then discovered additional cannabis plants being grown in Waylett’s mother’s home.

In July that year he appeared in court and plead guilty but said the cannabis was for personal use and not distribution. He was then given 120 hours of community service.

Two years later during the London riots Waylett was arrested and charged with “violent disorder, having an article with intent to destroy or damage property, and receiving stolen goods.” He was accused of having a Molotov cocktail whilst looting a chemist in Chalk Farm. Waylett was also found to have been growing 15 cannabis plants in his home. He was sentenced to two years in jail.

Gregory Goyle – Josh Herdman

Josh Herdman, who played Gregory Goyle, is back in the spotlight after taking part in ITV’s competition show The Games.

But he’s still been pretty busy over the years as well. Josh had a recurring role on ITV’s Marcella and appeared in the movie Robin Hood alongside Taron Eagerton and Jamie Foxx.

Aside from acting Josh has taken up MMA fighting and is in a relationship with a woman called Jessica.

Seamus Finnegan – Devon Murray

We have our first niche Harry Potter cast member baby. Devon Murray who played Seamus Finnegan welcomed his son last year with his partner Shannon McCaffrey Quinn, who he’s been in a relationship with since 2018.

Aside from having a kid Devon has been busy riding horses and offering Harry Potter fans Cameos for £92. He has just over 200,000 followers on Instagram and shares a lot of Harry Potter flashbacks.

Dudley Dursley – Harry Melling

via Netflix

Harry Melling who played Harry’s spoilt cousin Dudley has grown up to be quite the movie star. He’s now probably best known for his role in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit rather than Harry Potter.

He’s also been in the film The Devil All The Time alongside Robert Pattinson and Tom Holland. Harry has starred in episodes of BBC’s Dark Materials and War of Worlds. Basically, since Harry Potter ended he hasn’t stopped working.

Harry has also written a play and starred in many stage productions.

Dean Thomas – Alfred Enoch

Alfred Enoch is another post-Harry Potter success star. He was best known for playing Dean Thomas, however, after his main role in How To Get Away With Murder, he’s now far more known for playing Wes Gibbins.

He starred in the show for three years and returned for one episode in 2020. Alfred has also had leading TV roles in Troy, Trust Me and Foundation.

Alfred has done a few films but mainly TV and stage jobs. Most recently he played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the Globe. He’s now 33 years old and can speak four languages – show off.

Parvati Patil – Shefali Chowdhury

Shefali played Parvati Patil for three of the Harry Potter films, including The Goblet of Fire where she accompanied Harry to the ball.

She is now 33 years old and hasn’t done a lot of acting since the films. She starred in three short films, two in 2015 and another in 2019.

Padma Patil – Afshan Azad

via Instagram @afshanazad

Afshan Azad starred in five of the eight Harry Potter films but hasn’t done any acting since.

Instead she went to university and got a degree in journalism and design from the University of Salford.

When she was 22 years old Afshan’s brother and father attacked her because she was in a relationship with a Hindu man. In June 2010 they were charged with threatening to kill her, however they were eventually found not guilty. Afshan’s brother was sentenced to six months in jail for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

In 2018 Afshan married Nabil Kazi and last year she gave birth to their first child. On Instagram Afshan has nearly 200,000 followers and regularly posts reunions with the Harry Potter cast.

Cho Chang – Katie Leung

via Instagram @_katieleung_

Cho Chang may not have been in a lot of Harry Potter, but she had a pretty iconic role – Harry’s first kiss.

Since the films ended Katie has continued acting pausing briefly to complete a drama course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She’s starred in a number of British miniseries including The Nest, Strangers and Roadkill. Katie has been in a few films, most notably the Trainspotting sequel.

In 2021 Katie revealed the racist abuse she faced whilst in Harry Potter and earlier this year her essay on how her ethnicity impacted her acting career was featured in the collection East Side Voices: Essays Celebrating East & Southeast Asian Identity in Britain.

On Instagram Katie has nearly 400,000 followers and is still mates with Afshan, who played Padma, she was even part of her wedding.

Fleur Delacour РCl̩mence Po̩sy

via Instagram @c_poesy_

Clémence Poésy who played Fleur Delacour, is nearly 40 years old and I just want to know her secret.

She’s continued acting since Harry Potter and has had lead roles in the series The Tunnel, War and Peace and starred in a few episodes of Gossip Girl.

Clémence’s biggest film roles have been in Mr Morgan’s Last Love and in Tenet alongside her Harry Potter co-star Robert Pattinson.

Outside of acting Clémence has done some modelling, starring in Chloé and G-Star Raw campaigns.

Clémence has two children but has kept their father’s identity private.

Viktor Krum – Stanislav Ianevski

via Instagram @stan_yanevski

He didn’t say much in the film but I’ll always be thankful for the confidence Viktor Krum gave Hermione. Since Harry Potter, Stanislav Ianevski, who played Viktor has done a bit of acting including a Bulgarian TV series where he played a shepherd.

On Instagram Stan has over 200,000 followers and let’s just say he’s even better looking now. He’s also offering Cameos for Harry Potter fans for just £28.

Cormac McLaggen – Freddie Stroma

Cormac McLaggen was the Hogwarts version of a fuckboy. Since the films ended Freddie Stroma, who played Cormac, has starred in a variety of roles.

Most iconically he starred in Pitch Perfect, The Inbetweeners Movie 2 and A Cinderella Story alongside Lucy Hale.

Now though he’s probably most recognised for his role as Prince Friedrich in the first season of Bridgerton.

In 2016 Freddie married his co-star from the TV series Unreal Johanna Brady.
