All the former Love Island winners, and how long it took for them to break up

Our most recent Love Island winners, Julia and Lorenzo, took just six weeks to break up. And while that might feel like our vote in the final was robbed from us, there have been winners that have lasted less time than they did. 

The show has been going for over 10 years now, and we have two series a year now there’s the addition of All Stars. So, lots and lots of couples hold the accolade of being Love Island winners. So, how long did they all last? 

Jessica Hayes and Max Morley – Six weeks

Jessica Hayes and Max Morley were the first ever Love Island winners, back in 2015. They split just six weeks after they left the villa. To be precise, they lasted an entire 40 days after the date of the Love Island 2015 final.

This was before the days of Instagram story announcements for everything, so the couple shared the news on Twitter instead. Throwback! Jess wrote: “Some things are just not meant to be… #LoveIsland #JAX” and Max said: “We gave it our best shot”.

Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay – Six months

Amber and Kem won series three back in 2017, but their relationship didn’t last that long. Just six months after bagging the £50k prize fund, they split up. Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine after the news broke, Amber said: “I think it was just so intense and it was a mutual decision. It did fizzle out because we were so busy. But we’re still really good friends.”

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham – Six months

Jack and Dani lasted six months after the villa, and their break up was a very confusing time. They split up, but then apparently it was just for “publicity” and the couple got back together. They then split up AGAIN. It was weird. 

Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea – Five weeks

I still think the Amber and Greg breakup might be one of the most scandalous ever. After just five weeks, Amber was reportedly left “devastated” after Greg dumped her by TEXT.

A source told The Sun: “Greg has broken up with Amber and is blaming their busy schedules and now they want to focus on their careers. Amber feels used by Greg. He was always aware of the distance and his career in their relationship, and yet he chose to seek out Amber in the villa knowing there would always be the distance. He hasn’t made any effort to come to London to see Amber, despite it being over five weeks, it’s always Amber who had to make the effort.”

Greg has since denied that the whole split was over text, so god knows who to believe.

Paige Turley and Finn Tapp – Three years

Paige and Finn won the 2020 winter version of the show together. They lasted an entire three years together, before announcing it was all over. This one still hurts, I can’t lie. 

Millie Court and Liam Reardon – One year

Love Island 2021 winners, Millie and Liam, split up after one year together. The pair reportedly decided to end their relationship after growing apart. They then got back together, but broke up again. 

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti – 11 months

Ekin-Su and Davide split up after 11 months. Straight after winning the show, they had a travel show, and moved in together. However, after nearly a year Davide made the shock announcement it was over.

They too then got back together, but broke up again not long after. It was claimed Davide had been messaging other women, and liking posts from an OnlyFans model What a ride. 

Jess Harding and Sammy Root – Two months

2023 champs Jess and Sammy only lasted two months before ending things. A source at the time told the Mail Online: “Jess and Sammy have called it quits. Things have changed since leaving the villa and Jess has realised they’re better off as friends.”

Then, in a messy turn of events, Sammy said when he last spoke to Jess their relationship status was “left up in the air as Jess is still away and we haven’t had a chance to speak in person.” He went on to say that to see “via the media that we had officially broken up came as a complete shock.” Oh dear. 

Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan – Two months

Mimii and Josh confirmed they had split up, just two months after winning Love Island 2024 together. Mimii confirmed the news on Instagram, and wrote a statement saying things hadn’t worked out.

“Hi everyone, I know that a lot of you have been wondering about Josh and I and why we haven’t been making appearances,” Mimii said. “The truth is we have been trying to figure it out since leaving the villa, but unfortunately things aren’t going to work out between us right now.” 

Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman – Three months

Gabby and Casey won the second series of Love Island All Stars. They won All Stars in the New Year, and then famously took forever to announce they were official. Then just days later, it was revealed as all over. They were dating for around three months. 

Toni Laites and Cach Mercer – Seven months

Around seven months after their 2025 victory, Toni and Cach were over. Apparently they had a huge row at the Brits, and that was the end of it. 

Samie Elishi and Ciaran Davies – Three weeks

Samie and Ciaran hold the sad record of the winners who crumbled after the shortest amount of time. Just three weeks after the All Stars series three final, they ended things. We all demanded the £50k prize fund be given back. 

Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi – Six weeks

Finally, our most recent winners. And I’ll be honest, these stats make them not even look that bad. Julia and Lorenzo lasted six weeks after Love Island 2026. Apparently things had been bad between them for a while, but an argument at the NTAs was the final straw. Maybe Islanders should learn: Don’t go to awards ceremonies if your relationship is struggling.
