24th June

Just in case you need a refresher – the original lyrics of Thank U, Next go: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh”.

Almost seven years since the song came out, Ariana shook up the lyrics. “Wrote some songs about Ricky,” she sang, “and they still kinda slap.”

During a concert in Austin on her birthday, she sang: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.”

Ricky was actually there to witness this – fans spotted him in the VIP pit.

In the first show in New York, Ariana seemed to suggest that she and Ricky may be rekindling their relationship.

“Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back,” she sang.

So, on 12th August, Ariana shared a selfie on Insta of her and Ricky in matching outfits. Their faces were cropped out, but she tagged her, and he added the pic to her story. Ariana devotees took this as confirmation she and Ricky are a couple again.

She also has gained a tattoo – the phrase “I do love you” in blue handwriting. Some fans reckon this tattoos is in honour of Ricky.

In the very last show, Ariana sang: “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I’m tryna make him my last.”
