Perez Hilton shared heartbreaking post just hours before TikTok self-h*rm livestream

Perez Hilton shared a heartbreaking post on Snapchat just hours before he appeared to self-harm during a TikTok livestream on Tuesday. TikTok has spoken out after the video stayed live on the app for 15 minutes.

Emergency services were called to the American media personality’s home in Miami after viewers reported a man “livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media,” the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said, as per BBC News.

The video appears to show the celebrity gossip blogger covered in blood with cuts on his body and holding a knife. Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, was “safely recovered” and taken to “a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention”.

“Deputies quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene, and confirmed he was alone inside,” police said in a statement. His family has since confirmed that he “is able to communicate”.

Just hours before going live on TikTok, Perez was posting on Snapchat, where he regularly updates his followers about the latest celebrity gossip. He was discussing Ariana Grande’s recent decision to step back from public life due to intense scrutiny and said: “Ari’s Eternal Sunshine tour has another month to go and then she is done with public facing engagements, and wishing her the best.”

Perez then heartbreakingly added: “And wishing anyone out there that’s hurting the best as well.”

Ariana Grande has decided to take a break following constant discussions about her appearance and health. Her rep told People: “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”

In a statement posted on Perez Hilton’s website, his family said: “This has been incredibly difficult and emotional for us, made even harder because very little information has been made available to our family. While we continue to wait for further updates, we remain hopeful.

“We have also been able to confirm that Perez is able to communicate, which has given our family hope. We respectfully ask for your continued prayers, understanding, and grace as Perez continues to recover. We will share additional updates as we receive confirmed information and are able to do so. For now, we’re taking things one step at a time and keeping our focus where it belongs, on Perez and his recovery.”
