Guys, a new Pokémon shop has just opened in Lancaster

Dice & Decks, we choose you

For any avid Lancaster gaming fans, we’ve got some exciting news for you, because a new Pokémon shop has just opened in the city.

If you’ve ever taken a stroll through the weekly Farmers Market in Alexandra Square, you’ll almost definitely recognise Holley Goodban’s Miss Frog stall.

Holley and her business partner Matt have recently found a permanent home for the shop on Common Garden Street in Lancaster City Centre, which the founder told Beyond Radio is the “perfect premises”.

The new shop, aptly titled Dice & Decks, is described on its website as being “proudly run by passionate locals who understand the gaming community”.

Dice & Decks will be selling figurines, posters, role-playing game accessories, Pokémon, cards, and everything in between!

Holley began her business in the soon-to-be closed Kanteena venue, where she sold her novelty jewellery for charities, then temporarily moved to Marketgate in 2023. Dice & Decks expands from Holley’s current sales of novelty jewellery, action figures, trading cards, and an astounding collection of game dice.

Gamers and traders in Lancaster are lucky to have a large number of shops available to them in Lancaster, with the store joining Tabletop Republic and Board and Sword in the city.

Holley has described the shop as Lancaster’s “locally-owned gaming store.”

“We’re particularly proud of our in-store anime section, featuring figures, artwork, and exclusive items you won’t find anywhere else in Lancaster,” she added.

Dice & Decks opened on Saturday 30th August at 29 Common Garden Street, Lancaster, LA1 1XD.

The shop is closed on Mondays, and opens 11am till 5pm between Tuesday and Friday. On Saturdays, you can grab Pokémon collectibles from 10am till 5:30pm, and on Sundays, there’s slightly reduced opening hours from 11am till 4pm.
