All the compelling evidence MAFS Australia 2025 was the most staged season yet

There’s dodgy editing, and then there’s this

MAFS Australia has been called out as staged a million times, but the 2025 season felt worse than ever. It had its usual crop of terrible editing errors and the cast excusing their behaviour by blaming “the edit”. But on top of this, a lot of the moments actually were orchestrated.

More cast members than ever have had things to say about what made it into the final episodes, and there have been videos showing the dodgy production happening in real time.

Here’s a rundown of all the evidence MAFS Australia 2025 was staged. Strap in!

MAFS Australia 2025 was packed with suspect editing errors

MAFS falls victim to editing errors every season, but this year had more than any other. There was that time Dave grew a beard mid-episode, Carina’s head piece was on, off, on, off and on again, Jacqui got up to greet people at a dinner party…. then made her entrance, and there were plenty of scenes where drinks went from full to empty and full again, and food was on the table, then off the table within the blink of an eye. A shambles!

A leaked video of Awhina and Adrian showed how staged MAFS Australia 2025 really was, in real time.  The video quite simply said: “The proof MAFS is fake?”.

During the clip, the bride and groom could be seen walking with their suitcases, into what appeared to be the apartments the couples lived in. The couple walked through the door, and then an apparent producer said: “Guys, can we get that one more time?”.

The couple then walked in and out of the building, over and over again. Huge camera crews were there, recording it from every angle. The person recording said their walk “wasn’t very convincing”.

Doesn’t sound very natural and authentic really, does it? In the comments, one person said: “This season has been so scripted… they are all actors at this point.”

Basically all the cast members have had something to say about ‘the edit’

Ah. Another year of MAFS, another bunch of cast members blaming looking bad on “the edit”. But at what stage do we admit they must actually have a point? This year, pretty much everyone has had something to say about how they came across.

Jacqui said a lot “wasn’t aired” and she and Ryan were “made to look like a good couple” when they weren’t. Paul said “key scenes” were edited out to make him look a certain way too, and Morena called MAFS a “sh*t show”. Sure!

The show was called out for ‘Frankenbiting’ – a very common editing technique used to completely change conversations

Prior to MAFS, you might have never heard of “Frankenbiting” before. But basically, it means TV shows can make cast members appear to say things they really didn’t. Maybe when they called out the edit they were telling the truth?

Essentially, it involves taking things someone has said, and cutting bits of it up and reassembling the sentences again. It could mean someone said all of those words, but in a completely different order, or across multiple different sentences. The context is never there. You can usually spot this if someone’s pitch is off during talking, and if their tone of voice appears to jump a lot within a point of speech.

One moment was picked up on during MAFS Australia 2025. It came during Alessandra Rampolla’s intimacy week chat, when the grooms gathered to discuss their sex lives. As Ryan said all of *those* comments about Jacqui, his voice was shaking all over the place. His tone kept changing, very unnaturally. This highly implied all the words were from different parts of when he was speaking.

Clint said a huge moment during a commitment ceremony was made to look like something it wasn’t

Clint has called out a staged moment during MAFS Australia 2025, and said the scene involving him was made to look like bigger drama than it was. You might have to cast your mind back a bit, but during one sofa session, it was made to look as though Clint turned to the rest of the participants, and then turned to Jamie and said: “Shut the f*ck up for once”. This was just before he and Lauren left the show.

However now, Clint has said his comment wasn’t even made towards Jamie. It was just sneaky editing from the show’s producers to make it look that way.

“What people didn’t see on camera was everyone coming at us while we were sitting on the couch, and it got to the point where I think Adrian [Araouzou] was probably getting louder and I did say, ‘Shut the f*ck up’,” Clint told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“The edit makes it look like I’ve said that to Jamie, which I didn’t. I said it to mainly Adrian standing up and getting vocal, but I’m copping a lot of negative feedback from saying that to Jamie which didn’t actually happen. I guarantee you, if I had said something like that to any of the girls in the room, do you think I wouldn’t be pulled up on the spot? It just doesn’t make sense.”

Cast members were allegedly offered a flattering edit

In a MAFS first, 2025 had cast members claiming good edits were being offered out like prizes! According to Daily Mail Australia, producers reportedly offered better edits if cast members promised to appear at the reunion. It was said to be because so many cast members didn’t turn up for the final episode.

An insider claimed: “Some were guaranteed ‘good edits’ in exchange for staying longer on the show.”
