‘I’m done’: Four MAFS Australia brides and grooms boycott the upcoming reunion
‘Fool me once, not twice’
MAFS Australia season 12 is almost over for people down under, and while the chaos of the weekly episodes has come to a satisfying conclusion, they still have the reunion to look forward to.
For people in Australia, the reunion dinner party will air on April 6, followed by the reunion finale on April 7. Unfortunately, we in the UK have to wait a little longer.
According to Nine, the double reunion will see “This season’s biggest bombshell be revealed, secrets exposed, and the showdown of all showdowns will leave your jaws on the floor.”
Sierah Swepstone is set to air out Awhina Rutene’s dirty laundry, two cast members reveal their secret relationship, and the forgotten brides and grooms are back to address burning questions. But while most are returning to the couches for one last grilling from the experts, some cast members are set to boycott the reunion – take a look.
1. Morena Farina is ditching the MAFS Australia reunion
Wedding DJ Morena, who was married to Tony on season 12 of MAFS Australia, will not be attending the reunion after she was given the “villain edit” by producers. She’s not minced her words since, and in a damning statement to Yahoo, she condemned not only the show, but also the channel.
She explained: “Fool me once, not twice. No, I declined. They said to me, ‘You’ve got an obligation.’ I have no obligations. I’m done.

“On my remote, I’ve gotta actually put a cover on number nine. I’m done. I will never watch you. I don’t care what you put on there. Change your ethics, change your values. I understand you’ve got a show to do, and I used to say to them, ‘Do your job,’ but there’s a line.”
2. Lauren Hall has had enough
Lauren has not issued a statement, but her on-screen husband, Clint Rice, told Yahoo that he’s received minimal communication from Lauren since the show wrapped.
“She was meant to go, then she decided not to,” he said. “We hadn’t spoken for a long time and then literally, when our wedding went to air, she checked in to see how I was going and what I thought was going to happen. There were a few messages and a couple of calls around that, and that’s been it.”
3. Tim Gromie is just done, period
Tim Gromie was THEE villain in the earlier episodes, breaking poor Katie Johnstone’s heart and taking literally zero accountability for his actions. Tim has not revealed whether he’ll be attending the reunion, but considering his move to distance himself from the show and delete all of his social media, I can’t see him strolling through the door.
4. Jake Luik will not be at the MAFS reunion
Jake Luik’s photo ranking challenge utterly destroyed his time on the show as both his wife, Ashleigh Ackerman, and the rest of the cast condemned his racism and overtly sexist responses. Jake refused to carry on with the experiment, so I don’t think the experts would even have him back.
