Two huge editing errors show just how set up MAFS Australia friends and family week is

This week we’ve been watching MAFS Australia 2025’s friends and family week – but it turns out the first episode was littered with editing errors. I think by now we’ve just accepted a lot of this show is set-up. Sigh.

During the week, we saw a huge argument break out between the friends and family of Awhina and Adrian. It was a bit of a car crash moment. There was also the stark opposite for golden couple Rhi and Jeff – whose friends and family sat down to gush over how in love they are.

But, both of these MAFS Australia friends and family meet ups had editing errors in them. So whether it’s high drama or loved-up scenes, we’re never actually seeing what went down truthfully.

Let’s start with what came first in the episode. The first meet up was between those who came along to support Rhi and Jeff. Some of Jeff’s mates came for drinks, with Rhi’s family.

But, if you look closely, those drinks gave away a lot. At first, the table was covered in full drinks. Then suddenly out of nowhere, all the drinks were empty. Blink again, and all the drinks were full once more. This proves huge parts of the conversation was cut, and reactions we were seeing didn’t match up to what was actually being said at the time.

Now let’s move on to the lunch with Awhina and Adrian. This was a mess in all senses of the word! For pretty much the entire lunch, the food and drink sat untouched on the table in front of everyone. This was probably because they were too busy screaming at each other. Awhina had a full to the brim glass of wine in front of her the whole time. And boy, she probably needed it.

In one shot, her drink was full as it had always been. Then suddenly, a waiter coming over with a full drink to serve to her, because the table was empty and she didn’t even have a glass. Wait, what?

I need to know just how much more of this argument there was?! Awhina managed to down a whole glass of wine and get it replaced, all in the time we didn’t see.

If you watch back really carefully, the glass goes from being full, to disappearing entirely a number of times. Clearly – a lot more happened here. I demand to see the full context!!
