All the controversial MAFS Australia 2025 cast members who have complained about the edit
Paul and Awhina did not hold back
It’s a tale as old as time. People go on reality TV shows, shout at everyone, realise they don’t come across super well on the screen, and say it was all the producers’ fault. So many MAFS Australia 2025 contestants have blasted the producers for giving them a bad edit.
The MAFS Australia producers have consistently claimed they don’t deliberately give people “good” or “bad” edits. But several cast members seem to believe otherwise. Here are all the MAFS Australia 2025 contestants who have slammed the edit.
Awhina

She said lots of her happier moments with Adrian didn’t make the final edit of MAFS Australia. Awhina reckons this is why some viewers were confused as to why she stuck around for so long.
Awhina told the Daily Mail Australia: “It wasn’t all bad. We had some real highs. But the lows were so low. And unfortunately, what aired didn’t show any of the good. So people didn’t understand why I stayed.”
Clint
Clint had a super surprising answer when asked which MAFS Australia 2025 bride he thought got the worst edit. He told the Daily Mail Australia: “I think Veronica has probably been harshly dealt with. I think Veronica’s really nice, and I think they’ve really pushed her buttons. Whether we call it a bad edit or not, I think it’s the reactions that they capture and exploit to a certain extent. They’ll take certain behaviours or moments and just run with it.”

I’ve watched most episodes of MAFS Australia 2025 twice, and I still don’t know how to feel about Eliot. His “non-negotiables” list made me hate mankind, but now he’s besties with Awhina, Beth and Jamie?
Eliot has complained at length that the MAFS Australia edit put too much emphasis on his “non-negotiables” list. He told the Daily Mail Australia: “They really leaned into the whole 1950s thing, which wasn’t the whole story at all.
“I mean, people go on about what they want in a partner all the time – whether it’s someone who ‘looks like they’ve done 20 to life”or has blue eyes and a big bum – but when I’m honest about my non-negotiables, it’s suddenly controversial. That doesn’t make sense to me.”
Eliot also claimed the producers cut out some of his DMCs with Lauren, which would have made him come across better. He said: “There were moments where I thought, ‘That’s not how it played out.'”
Jacqui
Jacqui hasn’t kept quiet about her many, many opinions on the MAFS Australia 2025 edit. Her theory is that her relationship with Ryan was so terrible that the MAFS Australia 2025 producers had to heavily edit their interactions, and as a result some of her reactions seem very strange.
She said in a TikTok video: “My belief whole-heartedly was that his behaviour was so bad that it couldn’t be aired on TV.” Jacqui claimed that because she and Ryan stayed on the show for a long time, the producers “have to try and make it look like we’re a good couple.”

“I just think his behaviour was too bad for TV, really,” Jacqui summarised.
Ryan has denied Jacqui’s claims about their time on MAFS. He has accused her on his burner Instagram account of spreading “lies, misinformation and slander” about him.
Jake
Remember Jake? That dude who was married to Ashleigh, and said some deeply controversial things about the other brides’ appearances during the photo ranking challenge? He blamed the producers for these comments. Um, okay.

Still not over this

Jake told the Daily Mail Australia: that the crew “forced” him to say these things, then took his comments out of context. He said: “The production crew weren’t happy with anything I was saying. They told me, ‘You need to spend 30 seconds on each girl and be more detailed.’ So I just said something stupid. My mouth works faster than my brain sometimes.”
Uh, could he not have just said nice things about the brides for 30 seconds instead?
Jake continued: “I know I shouldn’t have said it, and I apologised immediately at the commitment ceremony. But they made it look like I took my time and didn’t want to say sorry.
“Even Ash said things that didn’t make it to air. I was made to look like I was the only one saying things, but that wasn’t the case.”
Morena
She went on a rampage on her Instagram story about how a particular commitment ceremony was edited. She claimed the line “Tony, open up and come talk to me on a deeper level” was actually said during her talking head interview, but the show was edited to look like she said this on the couch.

Morena also wrote: “Ratings would have gone sky-high tonight if the two topics we really spoke about were aired”. She hinted there was more drama which didn’t make the final edit.
Morena also complained MAFS was edited to look like she speaks Italian at her wedding to Tony, even though she doesn’t know this language?! She claimed her friend said “Vive le sposi”, but the show made it seem like she said this instead. She wrote on Instagram: “They really didn’t do their homework very well. Everyone that knows me knows that I don’t speak Italian. I speak dialect. But proper Italisn sound so sexy.”

Paul
He did not hold back his opinions on his edit on MAFS Australia. Paul complained the producers edited out some key scenes which would have made him come across better.
“The only thing people know about me is that I’m French and horny,” he told the Daily Mail, “That’s the meme that went around — and honestly, it’s kind of true based on what they aired.
“They didn’t show me opening up about my grandpa,” he said, “They didn’t show the beautiful conversations with my groomsmen. They didn’t show my confession letter where I spoke about my heartbreaks and my hopes. It felt like they didn’t want people to like me.”
