He’s not in Death of the Pastor’s Wife, so where is Mica Miller’s first husband Jeremy Deas now?

Mica Miller is the subject of Netflix’s three-part documentary Death of the Pastor’s Wife, and one of the main people missing from the series is her first husband, Jeremy Deas, so where is he now?

The Netflix doc looks at Mica Miller’s life, her marriage to pastor John-Paul “JP” Miller and the events before her death in April 2024. But one person from Mica’s earlier life who is largely absent from the series is her first husband, Jeremy Deas.

Mica and Jeremy were married for four years. So, what happened to Jeremy after the marriage ended, and where is he now?

Mica married Jeremy when she was 18, in 2012. The ceremony was officiated by JP Miller, who was then the pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach. The couple later divorced in 2016.

Jeremy Deas was an active member of Solid Rock Church and was involved in its sports ministry. As per FITSNews, Jeremy was also a close friend of JP Miller and was sometimes referred to as his “right-hand man”.

A separate account by psychologist Joni E. Johnston also described Jeremy as an active Solid Rock member who was involved in the church while Mica was there. Mica was also working closely with JP during this period. She babysat JP’s children and later worked as his assistant and secretary.

On September 14, 2016, Mica and Jeremy filed for divorce. By then, Mica’s relationship with JP had become a major part of the story. Mica and JP began an affair in 2015, when Mica was 20, and JP was 35. Both later divorced their spouses and married each other in November 2017.

So, where is Jeremy Deas now?

Jeremy Deas appears on the current speaker page for Christ United, a church in Myrtle Beach. The church lists him as a speaker and has material under his name. He has also appeared as a speaker at Ignite Church in Myrtle Beach. Its online archive lists Jeremy Deas for several services, including “A Call to Unity” in August 2024 and a Sunday morning worship service in July 2025.

There is older evidence of the same thing, too. In 2021, WMBF reported that Jeremy was involved in a 40 Days of Prayer and Worship programme around Myrtle Beach and listed an email address for people looking for information about the event.

Unlike JP Miller, Jeremy is not facing federal charges connected to Mica’s death and has not been accused in the federal cyberstalking case.

And despite the renewed interest following Netflix’s documentary, there is currently no solid evidence to say where he lives now or what his private life looks like. And it’s probably better that way.
