Love Is Blind UK’s Ryan addresses backlash to how he treated both Cuba and that mango

The Love Is Blind UK participant Ryan Roberts has responded to the backlash about how he treated both his fiancée Cuba, and a mango.

When the first eight episodes of Love Is Blind UK season three dropped last week, Ryan promised viewers he would answer “any questions” he could. Ryan then went a bit quiet for a few days. Funny, that. He’s now re-emerged on TikTok with a lengthy message about how he came across on TV.

In a TikTok, Ryan spoke about his split with Cuba, whilst eating another mango. “A long conversation, and a whole day, in condensed down into such a short sharp focus on fruit. But there are a couple of things I’d like to say, of course.”

Firstly, Ryan admitted “it must have been super hard for Cuba” when he spent so much time away at work events that were apparently arranged before he was cast on Love Is Blind.

He continued: “I think anyone can agree as you are getting closer to the day of your wedding, you should be getting more and more and more excited, and not feeling more and more resistance when it’s hard to figure out why.”

Hmmm, perhaps it would have been easier for Ryan to figure out what was up with Cuba if he’d seen her at all.

“It is true that I did leave,” he said, “and I did what was right by how I was feeling. And I appreciate that it is very tough, at the time and afterwards for Cuba as well, but you have to honour what’s going on for yourself and your circumstances at the same time and your obligations.

“And it’s a shame because there [were] so many beautiful parts of our relationship that they never showed, and that doesn’t make the cut. You see o.5 per cent or even less per cent of the whole entire  experiment on Netflix.

“And that’s quite an interesting thing because people create their whole view and perception of every cast member based off what they see and that is designed to elicit certain emotions and feelings in people to keep them engaged. So, I actually find that part quite fascinating and scary at the same time. So, I think that part’s a shame.”
