Woah, Justin Bieber has teased a Y2K MP3 player and I need to know when I can get it

Justin Bieber‘s brand SKYLRK has decided that Spotify, AirPods and literally every other modern invention are no longer enough, because he’s teasing the return of the MP3 player.

Earlier this week, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber were already giving us a glimpse at Justin’s new neon SKYLRK headphones, and now there’s even more audio tech on the horizon.

Justin has shared a series of previews of upcoming SKYLRK audio products on Instagram, including what looks like a tiny, gloriously Y2K MP3 player, alongside some equally futuristic glowing corded earbuds and headphones. The nostalgia is hitting hard.

SKYLRK launched in 2025 as Justin’s independent fashion and lifestyle label, separate from his former brand Drew House. The brand has already established a pretty distinctive look, with oversized loungewear.

Now, it appears SKYLRK is moving into the world of audio tech, and it’s taking us straight back to the 2000s while it’s at it.

According to the teasers shared on social media, the star of the show is a small handheld device designed to fit neatly into the curve of your hand.

It works as a retro-inspired MP3 player, with its own display screen and actual physical buttons for play, return, fast-forward and directional navigation. There’s also some very prominent SKYLRK branding, naturally.

While we’ve spent the past decade being told we need everything on our phones at all times, there’s something weirdly appealing about having a tiny little device whose sole purpose is to play music.

With the Y2K revival showing absolutely no signs of slowing down, it feels like the MP3 player was always going to make its way back eventually. We’ve brought back wired headphones, chunky digital cameras and low-rise jeans, so why not the humble MP3?

Justin, take us back to 2005. We’re ready.
