We know ‘HE IS FLUID’ in Adults, but Jack Innanen has addressed his sexuality in real life
He shared stories from middle school
The world feels a little bit safer this week because Paul Baker, played by Jack Innanen, is back on our screens in Adults, bringing a new wave of rampant s*xuality to the internet. Life is good.
Before Adults, Jack Innanen was a pretty major TikTok star who amassed millions of followers with his unique blend of comedy and being really hot. Seriously, the man is hella pretty.
He was an absolute delight in Adults season one, playing the s*xually fluid golden retriever, Paul Baker. Though he was dating Issa, there was a brewing romance with Anton that’s going to be further explored in the recently released season two.
The popularity of the character, paired with (again) how hot he is, has got the internet in heat. So, what’s Jack Innanen’s sexuality?

The sexuality of Jack Innanen’s character in Adults is ‘FLUID’
Towards the end of Adults season one, there’s this hilarious scene involving Anton and Paul Baker co-parenting a teen for a day. They essentially have to watch her ahead of her abortion, but naturally, they take it to the extreme with family dinners and specific “I’m parenting” voices.
It’s during that moment that the teen, Annabelle, says Anton and Paul Baker are the most boring gays she’s ever met.
Anton slams his plate down in response, screaming, “HE IS FLUID” as Paul Baker attempts to calm him down. Though fluid does sound like a sexuality your grandparents might scream “woke nonsense about”, it’s actually incredibly simple: It’s the idea that a person’s sexual attraction and identity can change, shift, or evolve over time rather than remaining fixed on a single type.

Sadly, at least for queer fans of Adults, Jack Innanen is straight. We can’t have everything, it seems.
On the Disgraceful podcast after the first season of the hit show, Jack admitted that people questioning his sexuality have been a staple of his life since school.
“That was a thing for me in middle school where kids would say that. And that was my first time ever questioning my, I remember being like, some kid was like, you’re gay. And he meant it like. Like Homophobically. But I never questioned it,” he said.
Naturally, he went home and looked at naked men and women. For science, you could argue.
“Naked guy, nothing. Naked girl, my pants are kind of tight,” he added.
But I won’t hold his heterosexuality against him; not everybody can be perfect. Though he’s not fluid, like Paul Baker, he’s been an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ+ community as long as he’s been on the internet.
He’s been dating influencer Lauren Cantrell since 2024, though there have been split rumours.
