This huge MAFS Australia editing error proves bombshell Eliot and Lauren chat was staged
Is anything real?
We might only be days into MAFS Australia 2025, but already there has been a huge editing error. The biggest storyline of the show so far has been Eliot Donovan deciding he wanted to leave the experiment, just three days in. But it turns out the bombshell chat he had with bride Lauren before this decision, wasn’t all it appeared to be.
From the get-go, it was pretty clear Eliot wasn’t sure about his match with Lauren. He posed a list of “non-negotiables” in a partner, pretty much none of which matched Lauren. When they left for their honeymoon, he was already talking about heading back home. Three days into the experiment, he decided to quit.
Ahead of this, Lauren and Eliot went out for a dinner on their honeymoon. But a major editing error proves things that were shown to us at home weren’t quite how it went between them in real life.

Eliot and Lauren sat down to discuss how he felt they were “not right for each other.” They chatted about family values, materialistic things and what they each wanted from life.
However, throughout the chat, as Eliot and Lauren started to disagree more, his drink magically went from full to empty, empty to full – over and over again. Like, it literally happened at least five times within the short space of five minutes that this conversation aired.

So, in reality, what we saw is not at all a true reflection of the conversation they had. Clearly parts of the chat were chopped up and placed in a different order. Were they even disagreeing on what we saw? Obviously things we saw each of them say weren’t actually direct responses to what the other had just said. Or, the continuity wouldn’t have been an issue.
Just to add to the point, whilst Eliot’s drink was much more obvious, Lauren’s was all over the place too. One minute a full marg, the next half drank, the next full, and then completely empty. My head hurts!

In short, this conversation was very different in real life. Their reactions would have been very different, and we don’t actually know if some of the back and forth they had really happened – or if later bits of a completely different part of the conversation were just placed there, to make it feel dramatic.
Was it all lies? We’ll never know!
