Here’s Eliot’s full list of crazy ‘non-negotiables’ Lauren didn’t meet on MAFS Australia

He takes picky to a whole new level

Eliot Donovan has brought so much drama to MAFS Australia after walking out on his new wife Lauren Hall during their honeymoon.

He made a dramatic exit after she didn’t meet the strict list of “non-negotiables” that he told the producers his partner must have.

This is a series of characteristics in a potential partner that the MAFS groom will not compromise on under any circumstances.

“It’s things that are important to me that aren’t a match, and this is a result of that,” the 35-year-old said to her before storming out.

He briefly mentioned them on the show, but what actually are his crazy “non-negotiables”? Here’s the full list.

These are Eliot’s five ‘non-negotiables’

  • They must be younger than him, ideally under 25
  • They must want to have a family
  • They must like exercise
  • They can’t be into superficial things
  • They must have ‘feminine energy’ and not be too ‘masculine’

He’s big on traditional gender roles

In his audition tape, Eliot listed these “non-negotiables” and explained that he’s a fan of traditional gender roles.

“Women are trying to obtain this traditionally masculine… like having a really high-quality career and being kind of alpha and in control and stuff,” he said.

“I think it’s taken away a lot of the uniqueness that women can bring, and it also changes the dynamic a lot with relationships.”

“I find when women are with someone that wants to take care of them, that provider of energy… a lot of women are happy to take on that role.”

“But at the same time they’re almost guilty to do it because they feel like they’re ‘betraying feminism’.”

Lauren didn’t meet these demands

Eliot said that Lauren didn’t meet any of these things, so he decided to walk out on their honeymoon, although he’s since said the “non-negotiables” aren’t actually the reason he left his new wife.

After she told him she only wanted one child, he said: “I think the number one thing for me is I really want to have a big family, so I want someone who is family-oriented. Not someone who has values that run counter to mine.”

Then, he pointed out her designer handbag and said: “That’s the last thing on my priority list. Those sort of things… handbags, expensive holidays. I just saw your handbag. Don’t get defensive, I’m not trying to paint you as something.”

The MAFS groom also told Lauren she should be with someone older “that’s probably in their 40s,” while he specifically asked for someone who is younger than 25.
