Now it makes sense! This is why Eliot seemed so uninterested during his MAFS Aus wedding
It’s like he didn’t want to be there
The whole way through his MAFS Australia wedding, groom Eliot acted like he didn’t really want to be there – and now we know why.
He kept saying he’d happily walk out if he didn’t like the bride he was given, which isn’t exactly the attitude you’d expect from someone who wanted to go on the show.
However, he didn’t actually want to go on MAFS at all, which explains a lot! Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, he said: “I never intended to go on a show like this. I never applied, it was never even in my paradigm.”
“I was approached by a talent scout on Instagram and a girl messaged me and said, ‘Hey, we want you to audition for the most popular TV show in the country’.”
Eliot thought he was being approached to go on The Block, a popular Australian reality series also on Nine Network where couples compete against each other to refurbish a home.

“So I was like, ‘Oh, you beauty!’. Like, that’s my thing, I work in home renovations,” he said. When Eliot realised it was actually MAFS they wanted him to go on, he wasn’t very keen, but decided to give it a go anyway.
“I eventually just went, you know what? At the end of the day, I’m probably not going to meet my person there, but it could be a really interesting experience,” Eliot continued. “I’ve got nothing to lose if I just go in and I meet her and she’s not the one and I pack my bags and go,” he said.

“If you see the process going into it, that was my whole mindset. I was like, I’ll just leave if it’s not the right person for me. Like, I don’t want to be part of this experiment, I don’t want to be here to try to entertain people… But if it’s the person my dreams, then I could meet her, and then who knows?”
So that explains why he was so uninterested, he didn’t even want to go on the show! However, I’ve seen the spoilers and there’s a LOT more juicy drama involving him to come.
