Lancaster Uni’s campus cat is moving out and says goodbye

Guinness has imprinted his little paw marks one last time on Lancaster Uni turf as he leaves for a new home elsewhere

Lancaster Uni has been closely acquainted with a black-and-white furry creature called Guinness for quite some time.

Guinness can be found hiding in the nooks of the library, wandering around the SPAR, and even entering some students’ accommodations and making himself at home.

However, this famed kitty will no longer be seen around campus as he has moved to another home away from the Lancaster Uni area.

Guinness can usually be seen by the woodland area on the back of County Main, keeping an eye over his territory. However, an Instagram post was shared by @theguinnessarchives (which documents his sightings by numerous students and staff alike wandering around all areas of campus) informing the cat’s fans that “Guinness has moved and will no longer be seen on Lancaster University Campus”.

The owners thanked everyone for their love and support, but explained he will be “moving to a new home tomorrow”.

The Instagram account will keep checking with the owners of the feline to give us updates on his wellbeing. Guinness’ fans will also still be able to see archive pictures of him and his adventures every Friday. But once there are no more submissions, the account will become inactive.
