Lancaster students, it’s time to vote in the BNOC 2025 semi finals

Have your say in who becomes Lancaster Uni’s Biggest Name on Campus for 2025!

We’re getting closer and closer to revealing The Lancaster Tab’s BNOC for 2025 and the tensions are rising. The heats have introduced us to some Lancaster Uni icons, all of which need your vote to make it into the final and be announced the Biggest Name on Campus. Becoming BNOC is a huge achievement, with this year’s heats bringing in almost 1,500 votes

So, all you need to do now is to read through the statements below given by your final five nominees. And to ensure you have your say in choosing the most iconic person on campus, remember to vote in the poll below before it closes at 11am on Thursday 15th May 2025.

Oli Stephens (fourth year, Furness)

Our first semi-finalist, Oli, was nominated for his friendly personality and ability to get on with everybody, and he’s also on the exec for Lancaster Uni’s Medicine Society.

Oli has told us: “A wise woman once said ‘a friend to all is a friend to none’ and I beg to differ. I’ve spent more time making friends in my four years at uni than doing my actual medicine course. But I hope this will pay off and I will get the four letters of ‘BNOC’ in front of my name before I get the two letters ‘DR’ at the end of my degree. Thanks for voting for me so far and thanks whoever nominated me <3.”

Is Oli your BNOC? Let us know in the poll below!

Kelcey Pedley (third year, County)

Kelcey was nominated for her role in the creation of Dale Street United, a women’s football team. When asked how she feels to have made it into the semi-finals, she replied: “I’m honoured to be up for nomination, it means so much to me and the team that Dale Street has helped get women’s football and sports noticed more around campus and that everyone has had a laugh doing it. Thank you all for following along and seeing our fun and stay tuned for what DSU will bring if I win big!”

If Kelcey is your BNOC winner, cast your vote for her in the poll below.

Oliver Earnshaw (third year, County)

Our next semi-finalist, Oliver, is definitely already a big name around campus after his recent presidential campaign.

If you think Oliver deserves the title of BNOC, make sure you vote for him below. To help you decide, here is what he told us: “Thanks so much for everyone that’s voted for me, it’s about time I finally get some votes. It would be an honour to finally win an election this year!.”

Tani (first year, Fylde)

Tani is our only first year to make it this far and was nominated for her kindness, humour, and pure vibes.

When asked about making it through to the semi-finals, Tani replied: “Being nominated as big name on campus, honestly I thought my biggest achievement this year was finding my ID while doing back to back night outs. But here we are, big up to everyone who voted for me, your support means a lot.

“Everyone I know is iconic and hot so shout out to them. It wasn’t easy but only one legendary woman can go out everyday and still manage to have no hangover. I’d like to celebrate by everyone getting pissed by the duck pond near Fylde, with my favourite music – like a G6.”

If you believe Tani is your BNOC and want to join her by the Fylde duck pond, make sure you vote for her in the poll below.

Jacob (also known as Yacob) (third year, Pendle)

Our final Lancaster icon, Jacob, was nominated for his love and dedication to Spoons reviews.

Jacob told us: “I feel very happy to have made it this far, it’s a lot of work having visited 455 Spoons’, and if I won BNOC I would invite you all to Spoons, and of course visit many more Spoons.”

So if you fancy going to Wetherspoons with Jacob, make sure you vote for him as your winner in the poll below.
