The time is here: Voting has opened for the first round of Lancaster’s BNOC candidates

We’ve got some tough competitors this year


You’ve waited. You’ve wondered. You’ve celebrated a weekend of Lancaster thrashing York in Roses 2025, but the celebrations aren’t over yet. That’s right, it’s time to get voting for your favourite BNOC candidates for Lancaster’s 2025 Big Name On Campus.

This year’s candidates have been nominated for reasons ranging from “keeping women’s sports on the map” to being known as the “sexiest man on campus,” and we’ve had some absolute icons preparing their candidacies for the battle of the year. Take a look at our first round of candidates below, and getting voting via the Google Form! The deadline for votes is Thursday 7th May at 2pm.

Yioda – Second Year, Furness

A future BNOC in the making?

Yioda may be in her third year at Lancaster Uni, but her legacy has clearly been going on for far longer than this because she was nominated for making the Fresher’s chat for her cohort. Is she a BNOC in the making? Only you can decide.

Oliver – Third Year, County

A familiar face is back again…

You may recognised Oliver for his recent presidential campaign for the Student Union, but now he’s back to receive your votes for BNOC 2025; he’s the president of County Football and received two nominations for “making a name for himself on campus” as well as his impressive involvement with university sports teams.

Kelcey – Third Year, County

Recognise this popular football team?

Kelcey received three nominations for running Dale Street United’s Instagram account, which is an local women’s football team. Those who nominated her credited her with “keeping women’s sports on the map,” creating a “powerhouse of women making waves across uni life” and being involved in “iconic nights out.” Is Kelcey your BNOC for 2025? Oli – Fourth Year, Furness

From social exec to BNOC…

Oli is a currently studying for his medicine degree and was nominated for being a true friend who gets along with everyone, is a “happy soul” and has been on the social exec for Lancaster Uni’s Medicine Society. He may be training to save lives, but can you save his in the 2025 BNOC competition? We’ll find out soon!

Tani – First Year, Fylde

Only true icons are nominated for BNOC, and Tani is no exception

Tani is one of two freshers nominated for this year’s BNOC competition, and was showered with praise in her nomination for her humour, kindness and pure vibes. She’s a student in Fylde College, and her chances at BNOC 2025 hinge on the votes of our readers. If you’d like to vote for Tani, you have until 2pm on Thursday 7th May to do so.
