
Safe Zone: Glasgow students told to avoid Gilmorehill campus due to protest
Glasgow University goers received a notification telling them to stay away from the area

16:16 – Road now reopened, protestors have moved to Kelvin Park East.
14:06 – Students are now able to access the campus but the road is still closed to vehicles.
13:20 – Police closed down the street for vehicles.
13:17 – Police Scotland arrived at scene.
Glasgow students have been told to avoid the Gilmorehill campus due to an ongoing protest.
A SafeZone notification was sent to all University of Glasgow students telling them to stay away from the area.
The notification said: “There is a protest at Gilmorehill, please avoid this area.
“University avenue closed by protestors, police in attendance. University security management talking to protestors.”
Currently, there is a sit in taking place at JMS on Gilmorehill campus with seven Glasgow students saying they are actively hunger striking.
A number of students are also sat in the road.
Pro-Palestine demonstrators say they’re protesting over University Secretary David Duncan allegedly not holding promised talks with them.
