Er, Eliot blamed the downfall of his marriage to Lauren on her ex Jono from MAFS Aus 2024?!

Eliot and Lauren’s wedding will surely go down in MAFS Australia history as one of the shortest-lived marriages. But there was a whole other dimension to why their relationship failed so spectacularly, which we didn’t get to see on the show.

We now know that Lauren actually dated the controversial MAFS Australia 2024 groom Jono McCullough before they both went on the show. Apparently Lauren and Jono were friends for well over a decade, then were in a romantic relationship together for three whole months. The couple split in January 2023, soon before Jono was cast in MAFS. Look, we have photographic evidence from the depths of Instagram.

Eliot has now revealed Lauren kept banging on about her ex Jono. Apparently this red flag was a major reason why he walked out on the honeymoon after two days.

Eliot is now insisting through a series of TikToks that he didn’t care that much about his notorious “non-negotiables” at all, and the show was just edited that way. Lauren’s other traits were much bigger factors. He wrote on TikTok: “I didn’t even really care that much about the non-negotiables, they [the producers] just pressed me on that and decided to make that my character.

“The way she spoke about her family, her ex Jono and the girls in the experiment gave me everything I needed to want to leave.”

We know Jono and Lauren were still in touch right before she went on MAFS, because he tried to persuade her not to go on the show.

It’s previously been reported that the MAFS Australia bosses did find out Lauren and Jono dated, but tried to keep this quiet. A source told MailOnline: “Production was hoping to quietly sweep it under the rug, but word got around that she was appearing on the show and they knew each other.” So maybe that’s why we never saw these conversations on the show?

Jono is still with Ellie Dix – the MAFS 2024 bride he shockingly got with after the show. The couple recently bought a house together on the Gold Coast. Aw.
