I asked ChatGPT to create the next The Sims 4 expansion packs and EA needs to take note

The Sims 4: Space Colony would be iconic

With EA Games preparing to release Business and Hobbies as their latest in a very, very, VERY long line of expansion packs for The Sims 4 – it’s safe to say some feel the ideas are drying up rapid. It’s not that Business and Hobbies looks bad or anything, it looks great – but let’s call a spade a spade. It’s pretty much a redux of Get To Work. And that’s fine, but what happened to wild packs with wild and crazy twists and turns!? I do not want AI to stifle creativity – but I just asked ChatGPT to create the next five expansion packs for The Sims 4 and the results were kind of absolutely … iconic?

I need them all in the game, so here’s what could happen if ChatGPT took the helm of The Sims 4 and the next expansion packs for the game were crafted by AI.

Time Travel Adventures

“Time travel could unlock a whole new level of creativity in the game. Players could send their Sims back to different time periods (e.g., the 1920s, medieval times, or even prehistoric eras). Sims could interact with historically significant events, meet characters from the past, or discover long-lost inventions. It could include new careers, historical builds, and even futuristic technologies.”

A cool idea from the AI here, and one I’d definitely have fun with. It’s a bit timely considering the free quests in The Sims 4 right now in honour of The Sims’ birthday are all about time travel!

Underwater World

Create-A-Sim shot from Island Living

“A completely new way to explore the depths of the ocean. Sims could dive into the deep sea, discover underwater cities, interact with sea creatures, and even live in unique underwater homes. New careers like marine biologist, treasure hunter, or even underwater architect could emerge. There could be challenges with underwater ecosystems, and you’d have to manage your Sims’ oxygen supply or explore shipwrecks for hidden treasures.”

ChatGPT really went all out there for this one, but I could really see it. Would be great as an extension to mermaids we got in Island Living.

Space Colony

“This expansion would take Sims out of the ordinary and into the stars. They could travel to new planets, build space colonies, and explore distant galaxies. New careers could include astronaut, alien biologist, or even space explorer. Sims could live in space stations or on alien planets with different environmental challenges, like dealing with low gravity or surviving harsh climates. You could even interact with alien species and uncover mysteries about the cosmos.”

Nah, I need it. This one is my favourite. Imagine the CAS!

Urban Legend

From The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff

“In this expansion, Sims would live in a mysterious town surrounded by myths, cryptids, and urban legends. New paranormal creatures, like Bigfoot, the Mothman, or a haunted doll, could interact with your Sims. They could go on ghost hunts, investigate strange occurrences, or even join paranormal research teams. There could also be secret societies and conspiracies to unravel, and new haunted venues where Sims can try to solve eerie mysteries.”

Now it feels like The Sims 4 has got all supernatural bases covered, this is a fun spin on expansion packs in that realm from ChatGPT and I love the idea of it centred on more niche urban legends and folky spooks!

Secret Agent

“A spy-themed expansion where your Sims could join the world of espionage. They’d have missions to complete, secret identities, and special spy gadgets to use. They could travel the world, infiltrate high-security areas, or build hidden safe houses. A new Espionage Career could allow Sims to rise through the ranks, uncovering complex plots while trying to maintain a normal life. Sims could also work as private investigators, gathering intel for clients.”

We’ve already got a secret agent type job in the base game, but this could really flesh it out and make an active career out of the whole thing.
