The new Fortnite update is one of celebration – it’s been a long drought since our last. Fortnite’s development company Epic Games has a company wide break over the festive period, so we’ve been starved. I mean, not totally starved – Fortnite absolutely cooked with its best ever Winterfest and getting Mariah Carey in the game is potentially the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Todays’ update has been one of the most anticipated though, with a brand new Fortnite Festival headliner for the next few months dropping and the reveal of Godzilla – the season’s ‘secret’ skin and a new addition to the map.
Here are the most important things dropping in this update you need to get your head around!

Replacing Snoop Dogg as his reign comes to an end, AI artist Hatsune Miku is the Fortnite Festival headliner. The update brings a load of Miku songs to play if Festival, and a skin for the pass that any Crew members will get to unlock. She also has an item shop variant too. Prepare to see her in every lobby about a billion times.
Instruments can now be pickaxes and backblings
All the cosmetics you can unlock for Fortnite Festival? Well now, a load of them can be used in Battle Royale as backblings and pick axes. This is actually the best news for all my pop girly skins. Buzzing.

Not only is it time for Godzilla to be unlockable in the Battle Pass, the big kaiju is now roaming the map and causing destruction. You will apparently be able to unlock a Godzilla medallion if you’re the one who inflicts the most damage on the boss and then have the ability to transform into it. Wild.

Officially confirmed! I can’t wait to see how this turns out. It’s giving the Chapter One monster fight on the island – which was very Kaiju inspired actually. This official teaser has literally got me so hyped.
The survey skins have leaked

Loads of upcoming skins we previously saw in surveys are dropping in the shop soon. Most of them perfectly match the Japanese culture theme of the chapter – Love the mask girly with the katana. There’s a reskin of Glimmer coming too and one of Chapter Two Season Eight battle pass icon Charlotte.
