How to play Octo Game, the viral Squid Game replica in Fortnite that is insanely accurate

I cannot tell you how tense the carousel game is

A mate said to me yesterday “every single day I understand Fortnite less”, and honestly – fair play. Because the latest Fortnite trend to get your head around is the fact that some genius has created a creative mode map that makes gameplay inspired by Squid Game – with representation from the brutal games featured in both seasons one and two of the Netflix show. Octo Game, as it’s affectionately and legally called in Fortnite, has gone viral – so here’s how you can play the Squid Game inspired replica and what happens to you in every round.

Here’s the map code you need

Octo Game 2 is now popping off in Fortnite, with loads of active players. And I honestly don’t think Netflix itself could create a licensed game as accurate as this is. You can click the link here to get to Octo Game 2, or if you look on the homepage of creative maps on Fortnite you should be able to see it near the top as literally everyone is hammering it right now.

So, when you begin a round of Octo Game 2, you’ll be dumped in the iconic replica of the Squid Game dormitory and you’ll be able to see what number you’ve been assigned and a glass section on the floor with everyone in the game’s faces on it.

The game will then chuck you right into Red Light Green Light. To crack this one, play it just like the TV show and stop when the doll turns. If you’re caught moving you’ll be sent back to the start, and the only way to die is by if you’re not over the finish line by the time the timer runs out. Honestly, it’s easy. You can even emote still when she turns round.

Game two is the six-legged pentathlon from Squid Game 2. This one you have to balance across some platforming section, throw stones at targets and stop a rotating timer in time. It’s hard and tense. Beware.

Staircase run takes you up the iconic Squid Game stairs in a madcap run to the top.

Mingle is just like the carousel from Squid Game 2, and is the scariest game of them all because you have to rely on other players not being idiots. It’s so easy to fumble the bag on this one!

Back in the dormitory, you have to then survive a full night with the lights off as players can try and kill you. Stress! I just ran round like crazy and hoped and prayed.

Then we go back to the iconic bridge from Squid Game season one, and you have to stepping stone your way across the right glass panels just like on the Netflix show.

You then make it through to the final round, which is a brutal slash to the death with whoever is left where you have to batter with your harvesting tool. Good luck!
