Erm, Love is Blind UK’s Nicole and Benaiah say people are ‘shocked’ they’re still married

Fan-favourites from Love Is Blind UK, Nicole and Benaiah, say people have told them they’re surprised they’re still together, despite being married for over a year.

Nicole Grunewald-Bridi, 31, met Benaiah, 34, on the first season of the show, and although their connection was clear from the start, Nicole decided to get engaged to Sam Klein.

However, soon after, Nicole realised her mistake and ended her relationship with Sam before rekindling things with and later marrying her now husband, Benaiah.

Although the show aired in 2024, the couple wed in September 2023. Yet, despite this, they’ve said that when fans bump into them, they’re genuinely surprised the couple are still together.

The pair explained they are often stopped in the street by people asking if they’re still together and said they’re often shocked when they say yes.

Benaiah said: “A lot of time when people stop us on the street, they will go: ‘It is so nice to see that you’re still together’.

“In my head, I am like: ‘Why wouldn’t we be? We are married,’ but people are shocked.

“Maybe there is an element of they see that world differently from real life but for us, this is real life.

“This is our real life, this is a real marriage.”

However, Nicole and Benaiah also revealed that there were doubts before they decided to say “I do” on Love is Blind UK, with the couple saying they were “torn” about what to do.

They explained that originally they had discussed both saying “no”, but that they changed their minds at the last minute.

Nicole said: “We were torn in the run-up to that wedding day.

“For me, I had a clarity really late in the night, in that wedding scene I was so sure about Benaiah but it shows me being a bit more uncertain.”

Despite this original uncertainty, the couple are thriving, having recently been to Abu Dhabi and Morocco together. Love this for them.
